Volunteer Benefits

  • Every volunteer is given a ticket to the Strathmore Stampede Appreciation BBQ which is TBD at a later date.
  • During shifts at Strathmore Stampede, volunteers will be provided meals from our bunkhouse as well as complimentary bottled water and Tim Hortons coffee and snacks.
  • Volunteer Passes get the volunteer into rush seating for events including Rodeo, Chuckwagons, or Running with the Bulls on the date of your shift.
  • Acknowledgement letters of completed volunteer hours are available upon request.
  • Being a volunteer is a great way to meet people and get involved in the community. Strathmore’s largest event is not possible without our volunteers.

Volunteer Positions

50 / 50 SALES: Collecting money for sales, walking throughout the grounds and arena selling 50/50 raffle tickets, must be 18+ for this role.

ADMISSIONS: Admission booths are run by staff members, volunteers are asked to help greet customers, assist the staff members with scanning tickets, putting on wristbands, answering questions, and directing traffic.

BEER SALES (MAIN LOCATION/TRACKSIDE/INFIELD/COORS TENT LOCATIONS): Greeting customers, selling alcoholic beverages to patrons, cash handling, cash register operations. Must be 18+ for this role and have proserve license Please include a picture of your Proserve card and send it to our office at info@strathmorestampede.com.

HERITAGE TOWNE: The Heritage Towne is a new zone on the Strathmore Stampede grounds filled with family friendly activities for all. Your role would be monitoring the area and assisting with any activities occuring in this area.

INFORMATION BOOTH/PROGRAM SALES:The info booth is the point of contact for patrons who have questions or are looking for a map or program. Volunteers here are asked to handle money and provide guest services. The program sales position is a perfect fit for the youngsters, this role involves walking the grounds, grandstand and infield prior to the rodeo and chuckwagon events selling our daily program.

PARKING: Assist our customers with the parking of their vehicles, directing traffic, and radio communication with other parking directors.Must be 14+ to volunteer in this area.

PEOPLE MOVER (TRACTOR): People Movers requires experienced 18+ drivers to operate our John Deere tractors as they transfer spectators from the parking areas to our admissions areas, using our long benched seats, before and after event performances.

PEOPLE MOVER (GOLF CART): People movers requires experienced 16+ drivers to take patrons from the parking lots to the main admissions areas, before and after event performances.

RODEO:Only available for those who have been asked by the Rodeo Committee This area is for individuals with livestock handling, behind the chutes/gates, or arena experience only.

RUNNING WITH THE BULLS: This position is currently full! Be a part of the one and only Running with the Bulls, you will be asked to greet the participants, take registrations / waivers, and ensure the participants remain in the designated area prior to the start of the event.

RUNNING WITH THE BULLS SET UP/TAKE DOWN: Be a part of the one and only Running with the Bulls, you will be asked to assist with setting up and taking down all panels in the infield!Must be 18+ for this position

USHERING: Greeting our customers and ensuring that they find their correct grandstand seat in a easily and timely manner, helping those with special needs, checking tickets for accuracy. Must be 13+ or accompanied by an adult for this role.

VOLUNTEER BUNKHOUSE: Our Volunteer Bunkhouse is the gathering point for the 400+ volunteers, you will be asked to help with preparing food and beverages and ensuring that the volunteers are well taken care of and appreciated for their efforts.

VOLUNTEER CORRAL: This is the first point of contact for any volunteer. You will be asked to check in the volunteer and direct them to the appropriate area for their shift and provide them with their credentials and meal tickets.

WESTERN MARKET: Assist the committee head with the set up, tear down and execution of the event. Greet visitors, assist exhibitors, and supervise the back doorway to ensure no entering/exiting of patrons.
